This is really nice and unlike a lot of mods, This has some practical applications too.

Just completed mine thanks op. Here are done pics. Used led strips, flexible ones. Then ran to trailer harness.

I like the idea of these longer strips better than the ones I bought a long time ago. I wired mine into the cargo light (gray / purple stripe inside driver's kick panel) so they turn on when I unlock the truck or open the door. Mine are plenty bright but the extra would be nice gravy.

Those are recon arent they. Probably pretty expensive. Strips were only$15. Plus the strips are hidden and out of eye view. Great lighting add on in my opinion. Could upgrade for cheap.

Did you use strips from autozone or the same strips as the OP?

After all this excitement I just ordered mine. I went with the Amazon 16.4 feet, waterproof for $22 after shipping. I think I'm just going to run all three sides of the bed instead of cutting and running 2 sets of wires around.

Second I'm inbetween jumping the 9 relay or going with the cargo light...... Cause these are great for hunting and fishing at the end of the day or early in the morning.

This is a good writeup and i plan todo it but the only problem i have is the power supply you used. I haul trailers all the time and was wondering is anyone else found another power supply to use other than running all the way to the fuse box?

That's my dilema. And no there is no constant power unless you go as far the the fuse box. I plan on doing this and leaving the relay in the fuse box under the hood. My one trailer with a battery I rarely hook up to. So when I do I'll put the relay back in #9.

Or another thought I was batting around is installing a very small 12v battery in the bed or under the truck. Run the orange trailer wire up to the battery so the truck charges it every time it's running. This allows the LED's to be ran without the key and you don't have to worry about jumping #9. Also if you leave the lights on, on accident (say kids turn them on and leave them) the only battery that will run dead is the small 12v in your bed. (Even though they say these could be on for a week before it'd kill a battery)

Something like this:

May be over thinking this but hey I have 3-5 business days till I can install these
