Default Lease Buy Out

Curious what people's opinions are. I have a 2012 fx4 with all options except appearance package and sun roof. Original sticker was $49,xxx. My lease is up at the beginning of September and the buyout cost is $29,500. It will have 39,000 miles on it then. My plan was to buy it but wondering if it's worth looking to buy something else if I can find a deal. Maybe a leftover 2014? Let me know what you think of this price, and if I should consider turning it in.
Thanks!

Turn it in. You can probably get a 2014 for not much more then that.

Turn it in. You can get something with 39,000 less miles for a few grand more. Probably not an fx4 though.

Buyouts are rarely if ever in the favor of the person buying it out financially speaking. But it is your truck and if you love all the features and add-ons if you have any, who am i to say how to spend your money!

I am in the minority. Dealers are not in this huge rush/scramble to offload 2014's in my area. Buy the truck if you like it. You won't find a 2012 FX4 with 39k on it in my area for less than $32k. I traded my 2011 FX4 with 53k on it for $28k and they sold it for $31k. You know the truck has been taken care of, and if it fits your needs, why not?

Thanks for the input. I can't find a similar truck for sale for less than 33,000. I do have the truck set up the way I want and would basically have to get another white one to move my topper to and remove level kit, etc.

I guess I'll see if I can come up with something better and if not keep like planned.

Keep in mind that some lease buyouts are negotiable, see if they're willing to take less.

Not a chance in hell......
Leases and Buy outs are not designed to favor the consumer.
They are designed to favor the manufacturer making more $$$.

Here's a leftover 2014 FX4 S-crew 3.5L for $32K

If you like it i'd buy out the lease. If you get get lucky you "may" find a 14 Lariat, FX4 for upper 30's. I bought my 2012 FX4 a year ago -w- 44k in very clean condition for 31K.

I agree but can also understand becoming attached to that vehicle and not wanting to go through the hassle of taking mods off going back to stock and redoing them on a new truck.

Sometimes time is worth more than money, if you have it to spend lol.

I also would not be interested in trading my 39,000 miles I drove for anything that had miles someone else drove. I do not know how that truck was driven and would be kicking myself for switching if anything major showed up. If you can find something new for that price (which you can) that you like then do that!
