Putting on the polymer makes washing a breeze and protects the original finish, like a wrap almost. DIY requires an orbital for best results, one that will not burn. Autobahn can provide advice, and the products.

Again, once on, it is just as easy keeping the Kodiak Brown looking showroom fresh as any other colour, including white. We are deep into winter up here, with snow, slush and salt and it rinses off easily.

this process takes hours and they used a buffer and hours beyond that. the cost to bring your truck there I am sure is not cheap. What DIY guys can afford that. The only process I saw that offered a real protection of the paint/clearcoat that was suppose to keep your paint spot free and all that was a service the local Subaru dealer offered when we bought wife's new car. Xyillon (spelling is wrong)or something like that for like $700 they apply to vehicle and suppose to keep car finish like new for 5 years.

Wow! She looks great, I thought everyone in So. Fla only drove white cars..I'm sure tinting the windows will be the first mod.. I sure hope you got a carport/garage..you'll be frying an egg on that truck!! Enjoy and the Kodiak is a beautiful color especially when the sun hits the flake!!

Look into using 3 buckets when washing your truck... that way you never get grime into your clean bucket... even two buckets helps a lot... rinse your sponge or wash mitt in clean water, then dip into the soapy bucket... you never get dirt into your soapy bucket

They charge me $140 for the polymer which includes a full exterior hand wash, prep, sratch removal, and interior clean. The polymer lasts for several months and really protects the paint and keeps it super easy to clean.

This, and you can do it yourself at home. The polymer takes about twenty minutes to put on and buff out complete. You don't need to worry about overshooting onto rubbers and chrome... it just buffs right out. That's why I provided a link to the products themselves. There is a refresher polymer spray that I use after handwashes.. takes all swirls and halos and water marks right out.. looking showroom. So easy, so fast.

The darker colours are hard to maintain. But these polymer systems take all the stress out of it. And, the polymers will also protect the newer carnauba/polymer waxes just as well.

Just trying to help a fellow Kodiak owner.

LOL I hear you but I can't stand white!
The windows are tinted...looks like 15 in back and maybe 30 in front so I may just darken the fronts. We have a few cars/trucks out here so I really want to get a canopy to offer at least some cover. This thing wont fit in the garage!

This is what I'm looking into right now. I would really like to find a place to do a nice and complete job on my truck now so I start off on the right track.

your truck looks showroom new, theres no doubt they do an awesome job, I'm sure the products are good. I didn't realize or I should say I forgot how much time it took in keeping a dark color truck clean. I don't have any real high end detail place around me. my Kodiak was full of swirl marks, scratches and water spots I could never get rid off.
