Yes. Some stuff is overpriced just because the King Ranch logo is on there. It's kind of a big deal down here in south Texas.

Well....I already posted up a pic of my truck - I just checked and it was one year ago in Oct 2013.
But, I've had it about 15 months now and it's given great service for 16,600 miles now, more than 4,000 miles towing my car to track events in its enclosed car hauler trailer, so here's an update.
I've done a number of mods, but since last year the main ones are a BakFlip FiberMax tonneau, the 2014 PowerScope power-folding and power-telescoping OE Tow Mirrors, and just recently Amp Research Powerstep retractable running boards.
What a GREAT truck!!!
The only thing that gave me a problem with my King Ranch is the wimpy payload capacity.
My heavily optioned King Ranch 4x4 with off-road pkg is VERY payload challenged - the sticker on the door says my payload capacity is 1115 lbs, but with my drop-in bed liner, bed extender, and tonneau cover, it's down to 1020 lbs!!
With me, my wife, and her luggage and snack cooler in the cab, and a couple hundred lbs of track support junk in the bed, I've got NO payload remaining for tongue weight of anything but a very light trailer.
But, here's a picture where I'm getting ready to tow my car to a track event. I got a Trailer Toad that carries all the tongue weight of the trailer, so I can now load up the truck and still pull a more than 8000 lb trailer - essentially the only limiting weight restriction is the GCWR. I'm waaaayyy below all limits when towing my 6500 lb trailer.

Well looks like I have a good excuse with SWMBO to get a F-250!
Great looking rig by the way.

But....I like my shortbed F150 for the convenience of driving and parking around town. I just didn't want to go to an F250 with a bigger/bulkier size.
I believe even an F150 with the Max Tow pkg may require a longer bed than my truck. However, you can get an F150 with a payload of 2000 lbs or more, but probably not in a King Ranch or other high trim levels with a nice pkg of options.
That's why I looked around for a solution, and when I came across the Trailer Toad I decided to try it. I found a used one for $2K (take look on racingjunk.com), and it has been the perfect solution for me.
If your truck has weight restrictions similar to mine (GCWR 15,500; GVWR 7200) and with the Trailer Toad carrying the entire tongue weight of the trailer, then if you load your truck up to its max you can pull a load of GCWR minus GVWR.
15,500 - 7,200 = 8,300 lbs. My Trailer Toad weighs about 300 lbs, so I can pull a trailer of 8,000 lbs if I load my truck up to its GVWR.
You can see below where I'm getting ready to hookup, and I've already attached the trailer to the Trailer Toad. You can see that the tongue jack is fully retracted and the Trailer Toad is carrying the entire tongue weight of the trailer - the shank is just hanging down and ready to be inserted into the truck's hitch receiver with no weight pushing down on the truck's hitch. With no tongue weight pushing down on the truck, the entire payload capacity of the truck is available to load people and stuff into the cab and bed.
