I only have one key for my 2011 XLT. The remote loc/unlock and panic buttons do not work and changing the beattery did not fix. I went to the dealer and they said it would cost me $300 for them to make me a new key.
Are there other options since I do not have a working key to program a new key blank with remote lock/unlock?
Thanks

So this thread is TL;DR, so I just wanted to ask, is anyone aware that on a lot of vw's the remote start is activated by pressing the lock button once and then pressing and holding? Has anybody tried this?

z7, is this what you are looking for. Wondering if anyone has tried this and if it works or not...

I purchased a flip key just like the op for my 2006 f150 2 years ago and loved it. Purchased another one for my 2010 last month and it works good. If I'm practically standing on the hood of my truck, I can unlock it. Oh well. I like these flip keys as it cleans up my key chain and it's nice to have an all in one set up. However, I just added a remote start with proximity alarm so now I'm back to another dangling box on my key chain. I may take the flip key off my key chain and put my regular key back on so that I will only have one dangling box rather than 2.
