I just installed a Go Rhino front bar on my F-150 so now I want to install lights. I've always loved the KC Hilites Daylighter lights but they seem to use a huge amount of power (130W x 2) so I'm looking at the LED version. I know they will use much less power but are they as good? I'm open to any experiences, proc/cons etc of the Daylighters either Halogen or LED. Any pics would be great too!

Thank you!
LED will not get you the same kind of output that regular incandescent bulbs will. The 130w day lighters in a "driving" pattern will literally turn night into day. And for $125? There shouldn't be a question. Halogen, hands down. IMO

I bet that drew some serious amperage with all of them running!

That's what I was wondering. LED is nice but I didn't want to have low light output. I know from experience the 130W Daylighters are awesome!!

LED is great for lighting up the immediate area, but if you want long-range, go with halogen.

There are SOME LED lights that gave range though, at a cost. Vision-X makes a "led cannon" that can throw a beam a pretty good distance. Only about $1000 for that set up though haha

I guess my biggest concern with running a pair of 130W Daylighters is the added power consumption. Can the stock F-150 electrical system handle them without a larger alternator etc?

Thanks

Ya I kept spare relays, fuses and fuse connectors in the truck. They would occasionally melt.

I used to run 8 150w day lighters on one of my Jeep CJ's (2 batteries) and 4 on the other.

I have yet to see any LED bars come close to those KC's.

Thanks everyone!

I'm going to order some black 130W Daylighters. Just trying to decide if I want the long range spot or shorter range flood style.

In my experience, driving pattern is better. So much so that I couldn't even tell the spotlight ones were on. And if I had the need for 4 I'd go with all driving pattern. But 2 is all you'll need. Trust me.

So you're saying this pattern:

This is the long range. Same wattage but higher candle power
