Default Tire Dilemma

I want to get some sage wisdom from you guys. I drive about 25k miles per year. My stock wranglers have about that many miles on them. I feel like I will be in the market for tires right in the middle or the end of winter. This means I will be diving on tires that have very little tread on them most of the winter. My idea was to throw on some new tires and put the wranglers back on next summer and use them up. I'm not sure that it's worth it though. A second set of wheels and tpms is too much $$$. Any advise.

I have all seasons, brand new but i think i need winter tires to get thru alberta.

Can you put winter tires on your exiting rims? Then u dont have to buy new sensors

I was thinking of running two complete sets but it's just too much cash. I'm wondering if paying to have my wranglers remounted and balanced in the summer is worth It to have newer tires now.

1. Buy new tires
2. Sell old tires for a couple hundred bucks
3. Drive happy with your new shoes and dont worry about it

There will always be someone who has worn their tires out and cant afford new ones.

Just out of curiosity, what do you think of the wrangler sra tires? Are you happy with their performance? heard a lot of bad things about these tires. What are you looking to get as a replacement?

To me they are ok tires nothing special. They are quiet and comfortable. They don't last very long and they look terrible. I think most people usually get about 30-35k out of them.

I have had BFGOODRICH A/T TA KOs on my trucks in the past and I really like them. They have good traction, pretty quiet, last forever, and they look great. They are also kind of pricey. $230 on Amazon.

My SRA wranglers have 34000 on them,I'm in the same dilemma. Buy now or wait till spring when there shot. I will be going with Bilsteins ,set at 1.5 inches and a 275/70/18 tire mounted on my stock xlt rims when I do buy.

Will the 275 70/R18s fit with the stock height? They are actually a little cheaper. If they fit and don't kill my mpg I would like to go that size as well.

I used this tool to determine just the right size before I bought my tires. http://tire-size-conversion.com/tire-size-calculator/

Enter in p metric size and it will convert to standard inch sizes for comparison. Very handy.
