Not sure, we lifted it to 3" on the 3rd day she rolled off the lot, tires went on afterwards.

Does anyone have real world experience comparing the Duratrac to a decent winter tire on the F-150? Specifically, I'm interested in hard-pack/ice performance and how much of a sacrifice I'd be making if I decide to run the Duratrac year round instead of buying winter rims + tires. All I'm reading are rave reviews so I'm very tempted to try them but cautious as it seems the look of the tire is a pretty big selling point on it's own.

I've got the Scorpions on right now which I was planning to dedicate to summer duty. But if I can save some money by selling them that would be great.

They are def not as good as winter tires on hard ice. They are great on snow hard packed snow. They are one of the best tires to run year round, but if you have dedicated summer and winter tires then I would run a winter tire. You could stud the duratracs.

Thanks vozaday. I guess as long as they're not completely useless on ice I'll give them a shot. Ideally I would go with dedicated setups but since I just bought the truck and a number of other things I'm trying to curb my spending.
I think I'll ditch the Scorpions for the Duratrac and maybe next winter I'll consider buying separate winter donuts again. Then the Duratrac will become my spring-to-fall tire. Brand new Duratracs should get me comfortably through this winter I'm sure.

It's the tires we use on our crew vehicles. Northern Alberta does not have very mild winters.

Worked at a mine for years and all we ran on our trucks were duratracs. Best tire for snow. Great on ice when studded. Awesome on mud and gravel. But we also called them "durashakes" for a reason lol

I just spent the entire day waiting for the tires to be installed (one guy working the entire shop on a weekend ugh). I didn't notice too much of a noise increase on the ride home but the ride felt rough and shaky. Granted, I wasn't driving on the best roads in town so I'll have to evaluate them over the course of next week. Think I'll hold off on selling the Scorpions until I decide whether I like these tires.

Check the pressure. They shouldn't be too rough
