I've read every thread on hear about how to put playlists onto a USB drive but I still can't get my 2013 F.150 to index the music. I have my usb formatted as FAT32. Changed to music for primary use. I've done just about everything I can find on google also...

Any have any help they can offer? Works fine when I use my iphone with my cord but I can not get a USB to work.....

What file format is your music?

Whatever itunes has it as.... Does that need to be changed? If so what is the best way to change songs all at once instead of one a time

iTunes uses different formats, I don't know which you chose.

I suggest checking what you use, MP3 is what you want.

Lots of different ways to convert to MP3 but I won't get into it until you confirm your file format

Okay, I will have to check when I get home. The songs will be formatted however they come when you purchase them from Itunes Store. Haven't converted them to anything else! Which I believe is AAC...

I changed my iTunes music to MP3 then download on to use stick. Worked for mine. I've heard that these trucks are picky with usb sticks. Mine is a sandisk brand.

Not iTunes, but you might check out MediaMonkey for conversion of mp3 cuts in m3u playlist format. MM's free download works great. I have prox 1000 cuts on several playlists by genre, saved on a portable hard drive and burned to a mini thumbdrive for my truck and an identical copy in the USB drive in my BMW moto.
