Default Issues to look for in used '12 Models?

I apologize ahead of time as I think someone asked this a while back.

I am looking at used '12 trucks with mileages between 16-40K. What are some of the issue to look for in this years trucks and with the 5.0 or 6cyl with turbo? Is there anything to run away from or signs of pending doom, gloom and truck sadness.

Thanks

It gets asked about once a week. I would skim through a few pages of this forum and the engine forum. There should be enough reading to keep you busy for a few hours.

Make sure if it's an 3.5 EB that the most current TSB for the intercooler/charged air cooler has been replaced with the newest version. This fix usually comes with new plugs and coils. Most 12's in that range may need new brakes too. Other than that I had no problems with mine.

I too would like to know of any issues. I've had my 12' for over a year and nothing so far. It is a 5.0. Sub'd

I found out after I bought mine about the rear defrost issues and the steering issues.

I unplugged the rear defrost and my steering is still good (knock knock)

2012 5.0 here, no real issues (leaky seal at the corner of the windshield but that took an entire 5 seconds and a pinch of silicone)

I dont use my rear defroster because I never really feel the need to but also because I dont want it to explode haha

No real issues yet though, coming up on my first oil change since its been in my hands.
