Default Isn't 25% Off MSRP Possible (for 2010)?

So, as most of you have read - I am not getting the truck I ordered back on July 31. I am thinking about making an offer on a similar 2010 truck that stickers for $46,120.

Isn't it possible to get 25% off MSRP?

20% off would be $36,896 (price before $4500 in rebates would be $41,396).

25% off would be $34,590 (price before $4500 in rebates would be $39,090).

Just thinking about what I will offer.

your math is wrong, the sticker price minus the 25% would be $34,590. i highly doubt you could get this deal done. that's over 11K off the sticker, then you want to try to get the rebates as well? no dealer on this planet will agree to that deal. i would go to edmunds and kbb, and build this truck with the options it has, see what their "invoice" price is, then offer the dealer 1% over the invoice price, you would still get the rebates this way. that is how i bought mine. that's how i buy all my vehicles.

No - 25% off would be $34,590 after rebates (as my parenthetical explains, the price before rebates would be $39,090, which is $7,030 off of MSRP). I thought I saw some other people recently get 25% off (with rebates applied).

You'll find a few people will SAY a lot of things about getting a super super deal, but without seeing the actual documents it's just talk.

While I don't want to fund the salesman's next yacht purchase, Ford isn't in business to give these trucks away. As others have suggested, check Edmunds, Intellichoice, and the other sites; see what kind of deal MOST of the forum members are getting; then make your offer.

Wish you luck getting 25% off

Back in Dec., I bought my 2010 F-150 Platinum for 20% off window sticker price. I think the dealer has more room to negotiate on a $50,000 sticker price.

If you can get 25% off, I would worry about the dealer going out of business due to lack of profit. They do have to make some money to stay in business.

There are plenty of threads about this already and you will see that the average for an FX4, Lariat etc that are in the 40K MSRP range is 8-10K off MSRP including rebates. I recently saw an advetisement for a local dealer offering up to 11K off MSRP for like 2 or 3 days only so you should be able to close the deal at 10K off MSRP since it's the end of the year.

You can SAY what you want but I know what I got (a little MORE than 25% off-$297 more) This was off actual msrp window sticker and this was in Feb before dealers were trying to move the 10s to make room for the 11s. Real sorry if your miffed that you didn't buy yours right.
To original op- you can do it!

I agree. With rebates applied etc, should be no problem with 25% off MSRP at this point in year. No question.

Good luck.
