iPod and Sync
Noticed something weird with my iPod behavior and the Sync system. For some reason the songs will NOT play in the order they are on the iPod. I have turned shuffle OFF and they play in alphabetical order.
How can I get the Sync system to play the music on the iPod in the right order?

If the song playback order is really important to you, I suggest you get a flash drive instead of the iPod. Make sure all ID tag is complete and accurate, including track number.
I put all the songs in 'Artist Name' folders on the flash drive and name them "Artist - Album - Track No. - Track Title.mp3"
I never have to worry about leaving my iPod in the truck in the summer or winter.

Bye F150, hello F250
Try looking at www.syncmyride.com and see if their forums have this resolution posted. I think mine play in alphabetical order (Artist Name) when random is disabled.
Don- for playlists on the iPod, on the Sync screen, in one of the menu items (sorry, memory failing) you can see all the playlists and select 1 to play from.
I use both a flash, and iPod. I keep the iPod in the console out of sight, all winter. No probs. (if you are wondering how, search for "Mystic Second USB port" here and there is a great thread on how to get at the second USB port, what to use, and how to route a wire to the console or glove box to keep the iPod/iTouch/external drive hidden).

if you are playing "all songs" then your 2 choices are going to be shuffle or alphabetic order. it's the same as Music > Songs on the ipod menus.
My playlist & albums play in order. if I give it the cmd "play artist" then things are jumbled up.
my ipod is an 80gig classic, ver 1.1.2

I have a differrent problem with my iPhone and Sync. When streaming music or an audiobook, there is a very noticable and irritating 1/2-second hesitation every 15-20 seconds. Anyone else have this problem and/or a solution?

This is a documented problem (on syncmyride.com). I don't recall ever seeing a solution posted.

I think there is a solution where you download some application to your PC. I think it is called "syncmyitunes" or something like that. I haven't used it, just read about it. You can download it on syncmyride.com. It is posted in the user community or whatever they call it.
