Curious how much your insurance was affected on your purchase of an 09-10. I only went up $10 on an 09 FX4 SCREW I bought the week before Christmas. My old truck was an 04 Ram 1500 HEMI.

I went from an 06 XLT to an 09 FX4. Oddly, my rate did not change at all, and I kept the same coverage. Even for my January 2010 renewal, the rate only went up minimally.

It really depends on the company you are using the vehicle that you are switching from. I would suggest looking around to find the best value because there is a large range in prices when you are looking for coverage.
We switched from State Farm to Progressive in 2008 and the six month premium dropped from $1138 to $708 for both cars combine (2006 Magnum and 2006 Tundra).
Last year we traded the 06 Tundra for a 2009 XLT SCREW and the six month premium went to $750; $390 of which is the XLT.
Last week we traded the Magnum in for an 2010 XLT S/C and the total premium went down to $728; six month - $390 for the 2009 and $338 for the 2010 - both 5.4 liter 4x4 XLT's.
Maybe more information than you wanted but I have always been surprised that the Magnum was so expensive to insure.
I traded in my 2002 Scab XLT and my 2007 Mazda Miata (that car sure was fun to drive) on the 2010 Screw Lariat and my insurance went down 270.00 for 6 month policy.
