Default 2009 f150 to 2010 f150 pcm swap possible?

I have two f150s.

One is 2009 4.6 2V 4speed automatic rwd.
The other is 2010 4.6 2V 4 speed automatic rwd.
Both are XL with 8 foot beds.
Both have ac.
Neither has power anything. Bare bones.

I sent the pcm for the 2010 out to be repaired a month ago. It never came back and all I get is the run around when I call the outfit I sent it to.

I need to get the 2010 running again. The 2009 is my parts truck. I intend to put the 09 pcm into the 10.

After taking apart the 09 cab, I now know how to swap the dashboard assemblies and it is relatively easy to do. The hardest part is starting the bolts but that is easy too with tiny magnets in the socket to hold the bolt to get it started.

I understand that the instrument cluster and pats(I think it is in the radio housing) need to be changed. For the keys to work I will swap the steering column which will be out anyway to swap the dash.

Am I right in thinking this will work? I don’t have to swap the wire harness from the engine bay and the fuse box also, do I? I removed it intact from the parts truck and it is ready for use if need be.

I read somewhere (can’t remember where) that a straight out pcm swap can’t be done because the pin outs (what each pin goes to) on the pcm connectors is different. Is this true? If so then I will have to change the harness in the engine bay along with the fuse box. This is why I was thinking to change the entire dashboard.

Also, what about the components on the engine and transmission? Do I need to do any swapping there?

I will greatly appreciate some insightful knowledge here. I don’t mind doing the work but, if I don’t need to do all that thrashing it would save me from doing a whole lot of cussing and hating Ford for making things so unnecessarily complicated and tricky.

Best at regards to all and thank you for at least reading this post.
