Default Installing Rigid Dually lights in front bumper.

I wanted to keep my front license plate bracket and have the LED lights to either side of it.

When you look into the bumper you see that you could put a bar in there across the opening and attach to the plates on either side. Here is a pic showing the area with the plate bracket removed for clarity (arrows also show the 1/4" holes I drilled in the plates).

However, just spanning that area will seat the lights too deep into the bumper for my liking, so I used 1.5" angle iron to span it, and two pieces of it cut to 3.75" long that I welded to face towards the bumper. The flat front edge of the small pieces are set 7/16" from the edge of the span of angle iron. The span piece is 21" long and the small pieces are inset from the ends 1/4" to clear the front bumper plastic trims.

Very clean, nice install! Wish I was that ambitious when I did mine a few weeks ago. I just drilled - there's barely enough room to have them in that spot while having good contact with the metal for stability, but I got it to work. Your install is much better though!

Only bad thing about having them in that spot (for me at least) is there's not much room to work with. I was cussing myself silly trying to bolt them on blind while just feeling around.

That looks great! What would you make another one of those brackets for? :-)

Nice job, I wished I had a welder so I could make my own mounting bracket.

Not at this time, thanks for the compliment though.

Thank you, I am very happy with how it turned out. It is not bad for access if you remove the license plate bracket first.

Thanks. It is a great thing to have around.

I did remove it, but it was still a pain for me haha. Maybe it was just me being tired and psychotic after feeding the wiring for the switch through the grommet. I already had a thick wire running through there for my sub, so getting all the wires for this through there too was... interesting. Won't be fitting anything else through that grommet lol. Made it way harder on myself than I needed to, but what's done is done.

Wish I had the skills and tools to fab up what you did though. Looks so damn good.

Beautiful install! I mounted my off brand ones straight into the bumper, but yours looks better and is probably more stable.

Also I love the look of those gaps filled in. The trucks don't look complete with the gaping 3.5 hole between the bread loafs and even the smaller gaps around the license plate on the 5.0 bothered me.

Looks great, but why put the dealer plate back on the front?

Thanks, it is just a placeholder until I put a different one in its place.
