Installed F150LEDs Bed Lights! (Pics)
Ordered the LED strips from F150LEDs a few weeks ago and finally put them in last week. They're awesome. Makes it so much easier to see things in the bed at night. I made a few adjustments from their instructions regarding installation.
1. I wasn't totally comfortable with idea of the quick splice connectors in to my trucks wiring system, especially since I haven't had any auto wiring experience.
2. Why would I want the LED lights on in my bed while I'm driving down the road at night? Just didn't make sense to me.
So here's what I did (thanks to the help of advanced auto):
Purchased butt connectors, ring connectors, electrical tape, in line fuse holder, fuses, rocker switch, and female adapters.
Basically I just attached the in line fuse holder to the positive terminal of the battery and grounded the other wires to various spots. I bought a little blue LED rocker switch, which now controls the lights from the driver side. Ran the wires under the kick plate, under carpet, tucked under the plastic, etc. Still working on the final location of the switch.
This is the first real "project" I've done on my truck, and considering I have little to no experience with this kind of stuff I'm pretty pumped with how it turned out! Spent more money on it due to the switch idea, but I feel much better about not splicing in to the truck wiring system and being able to control the lights from a switch myself!

Looks great, and good call on running a switch rather than having it on with the headlights or parking lights...I don't really understand what the practical use is of it if you can't get your **** out of it when you kill the lights and engine.

I also have a switch but wired it to only be on with the key. I am regretting this but I don't wanna rewire it.

Definitely subscribing to this.. My led strips from f150leds showed up on Friday and this is going on when I get my truck back. Any other tips/comments would be appreciated as I've probably got less experience than you!

Looks great! I bought some LED strips and have to get around to installing. I will be running a dedicated wire (fused) to the rear of the truck. I'll use the power to put in a 12v plug and tie in the lights. The switches for both will be in the box.

Thanks y'all!
Thinking of putting the switch in that little panel next to the dimmer on the left side of the steering wheel.
It's white, but I think my Galaxy s5 takes really terrible pictures in the dark, haha.
It was really pretty easy once I understood what the guy from advanced was telling me. Feel free to PM me with any questions and I'll be happy to help with the little knowledge I do have!
