2014 stx
Hi guys , I am about to order a 2014 STX and up here in Canada and these trucks have no real options , no power windows or locks, no power mirrors no auto headlights and no intermittent wipers etc. I like the sport package and they are several thousand cheaper than a xlt. I was wondering if anyone has tried to add some of these options with any success. I would like to use ford parts to do this if at all possible.

wait. what?
I would have to imagine that with what it would cost to add the necessary wiring, fuses, relays, etc. on top of the parts, you'd probably be spending just as much as you would spend to upgrade to the XLT. just my 2 cents.

why not get a used truck that's a way better trim than an stx?

I have thought that as well but I would have to order the truck as there are none around that I like and they want 2800.00 for bumpers painted and installed at the dealer so to end up with a sport like option on a xlt is getting up there as well.

I was looking for a regular cab 4x4 and have had no luck locating a used one at this time. I have a Roush blower for the 5.0 I want to install and was looking for the right truck , thought that adding some of these options may not be that difficult but was not sure.

I was originally supposed to purchase a 2014 STX in Quebec. The dealer had told me that sports package came with power windows and remote keyless entry - not true.
They tried delivering the vehicle and I refused upon seeing the inside. I went up to an XLT with the XTR package. IT may not look as good as the sports package available on the stx but I wasn't going to be stuck with a car having roll down windows and stretching over to unlock the door for the gf.
I'm very happy with the XLT. Yes - it is more expensive but I got all I wanted in it plus the 4x4 which I wasn't initially going to have. Feel better having it now with winter at our doorstep.
Btw the dealer had offered to install power windows for 900$. Ripping out the manual one and putting a button down in that spot - not very ergonomic and annoying on a new truck. Back windows will never open btw (was looking at a supercab) annoying for passengers. You can always make the truck look better on the outside (change rims, grill etc) It's the inside and basic needs that mostly matter. If she runs well the aesthetics can always wait.
You know more than anyone else what your budget is. I was looking at 26k for the STX. The XLT was 43 on the sicker. Got it just below 30k. Don't be afraid to negotiate and take a good look at the 2014s on the lot. They'll want to get those moving.
