I am the 200 to 300 guy,,, not the 1500 per wheel guy. To me I know the billet will last but to be honest,, I doubt the less expensive one will ever destruct before the trucks life is over. I don't see much difference and being such a small feature on the truck I doubt anyone ever will notice it at all besides a difference between the two.
To each there own, I plan on keeping my truck for many years past the note so I wanted something that will stand up to the test. I assume the plastic one will fade and look like crud over time.

Like I said, we are talking about a meal at Mcdonalds as the price difference for way better quality not thousands.

I enjoy the look of mine and love the build quality. If the radio was that important, I would just trim stocker or find a slightly shorter version.

I would be interested though to see in person the people that say they have no difference between stock and stubby. They must be right beside the towers all the time. Mine took a hit and I'm just south of DC.

Then maybe try the AZ one and see the results for yourself. We're talking 10 bucks and 25 bucks. If either of them broke or looked like crap after 2 years I'd go buy another.

Look I'm not here to get in a pissin' match over this. We're talking about a 10-25 dollar item. If this was a few hundred or even thousand dollar accessory I'd definitely chose more wisely. The whole reason I started this thread was to let people know that I tried an inexpensive stubby antenna that most people could buy locally and was impressed to know that if you cared about FM stations I didn't not personally lose any reception.

Thanks, Mike. I bought one a couple days ago after reading your post and I love it. I'm glad you shared!

UKNOWME it's your fault I drove to 3 different Autozones today trying to find one haha. Apparently that's the only antenna those people make that sells around here.

No way man, sorry if it seemed like I was getting pissy. I was just throwing out my observations out as I have the alternative.

If it work and you like it then it's cool.

Did the online inventory check not work for you? You pick your store, and it tells you if it's In Stock or not.

Also, just in case someone would like to see other stubbys. Most auto parts stores carry one brand or another of the stubby antennas. I know Pepboys carries one from Pilot I believe. It cost less than $15.

where are you guys finding these parking garages that are not posting the maximum height before entering? I was always under the impression that they are marked? At least the ones I have used in NY, NJ well most all northeast states. I thought that would be a law that all parking garages have to mark the maximum height? Heck even the drive thru at Mc'd and BK have them posted?
True, very true. They're all marked - it's just that I like the "extra" peace of mind knowing that if my antenna doesn't touch, my truck is fine.

My truck is less than an inch taller than me, so it makes sense that it's me just being paranoid In my FX4 Screw, as long as the clearance is 6'5", I'm good - and what garage is lower than that?]

BTW - RES4CUE - you sold me with that comeback!!! On order now.
