It seems i cant stop fixing this truck wow..

so i got the code. Dealer charges 200 dllrs and takes around 3 miserable weeks to replace. I checked valve. In acc mkde its closed. If you tru to open it using hand it will auto close. It doesnt open.. do i need to replace the valve motor? Is there a vac solenoid for it ? Where is it? Anyone keep having this go out?? Anyone got a part number for me to order?

Ive had so much stuff happen to this truck and i need it for work. Any replies appreciated.

You prob should provide the info needed such as year/motor and which IMRC code your getting specifically. But to answer some of the question its a vacuum operated system with solenoids to control the flow to open/close the flaps in the intake, usually carbon build up is the biggest problem with them, I personally have only had to fix a solenoid on a 2.3 focus and it was right on top of the intake.

I have a 2010 f150 xlt 4.6 4x4

I would rather fix it myself. The valve itself seems electronic. When I turn ACC on I can hear it and if I try to open it it closes on its own. Its like a lil motor. I cant find vac to it. Where is the solenoid so I can replace? I dont mind removing the manifold but id like to get a heads up.

I recently had to repin the coil harness and tought thats why I had problems but even after that. Still stuck closed.

So I looked at it without taking it off. With a small mirror. It is completely electronic. No vacums. Its an actuator. The linkage is not broken. I can manually open them and they close. The linkage is there. Its going to be the dammed electronic actuator. I even checked the wire and its good. connector is there. 3 wires total. The dammed electronic actuator looks new because it was just replaced by ford not even 3 months ago. I just hate that they take over 1 month to replace just one part at 200 dllrs.

Really? hmmm this replacement was done under extended warranty which I paid a deductible of 200 dllrs. So this means no deductible? This was supposebly fixed 2 to 3 mo ago. Im at 85 thou miles.

I would think it would be covered under that parts warranty regardless of who paid for the repair. Shouldn't be doing that after a couple months and from that link it seems that the warranty is for 2 years with no mileage limit. Labor may not be covered but I'm not sure. Might be worth it to call and see what the deal is.

was not covered under warranty..because well I paid to pass inspection . But yes I ordered it heaper than dealer. 150 dllrs. new.
