I have a 13 FX4 with the nav and everything and I really like it. I have only used it a few times so far but it will come in very handy in sled trips in the winter. I travel frim MN to wyoming and colorado 3-4 times a winter to snowmobile and finding a gas station in bfe Nebraska can get tricky in the middle of the night.

I like mine, but it's not without it's faults. I think they could have taken a few pages out of Garmin's book, but overall, it's a decent set up.

The way I figured it, having Nav would be one of those features I would want, but wouldn't want to have to install later.

Also, when I bought my truck there was a discount for having the sunroof and Nav.

I wish it was faster and more intuitive, I hate rotating the heat ****, or pressing the fan speed and it showing up on the screen with quite a bit of delay. Changing from AM to FM when you are in any other screen other than "Entertainment" is also a pain, where it used to be a press of the "Band" button, or a preset button. Still, it is interesting and I would miss all of the available features if it wasn't there. It would be nice if the hardware was upgradable.
On my truck, all I have to do to change stations is push the voice activation button, say radio, then say either fm, am, or satellite...then say station name..yeah takes a little longer than a couple of button pushes, but definitely a lot safer when driving down the road. Works same way with navigation. The climate control even works by voice...

They give you free software, and map updates just like your phone. So its getting better and you don't have to pay for it.

Free updates? Who offers them?
I got the nav on my 2010 Taurus and within 3 months got an notice that nav needed updates for an additional price. Don't remember how much but seems like it was several hundred $$$. I didn't buy it.
The nav has been used a couple of times - once before the Iphones and then again one time after. The Iphone just seems to be so much easier to use. The Iphone also is voice activated and responds well even in the car with the radio on. There are many different nav apps for the Iphone. You can pay for many but it is not necessary. I currently use Maps and MapQuest. Both are free and if one doesn't provide what i need I try the other. They both respond to requests a little differently. Have never been led astray with either one.
I would not buy another nav in a vehicle.

I have the other nav system in my 11 but my friend has the mft and I prefer the mft touch. The only thing that I like about mine is the 12gig hard-drive that the mft does not have. I also like that mft has the free map updates as well.

The MFT has free map updates? I guess I was not aware of that..awesome...now where can I find them? Oh, haven't used the NAV much yet, but I didn't want to buy a new truck and then have a GPS on the windshield. Plus it was included in the luxury package...if I wanted HID's I guess I wanted nav as well!

Yes. My Dad has gotten a few. My understanding is you make an account online. Then down load the MFT update, and then request the new MAP SD card.

I don't have my truck yet, so I'm going off of what my dad has told me.

You can also go to your dealer.

Someone that has done it before could probably give you a better description.

I have a 2013 FX4 with nav. I used it the first time a couple of days ago and the GPS is .2 miles off. When you stop at an intersection and turn you're not even on the road. Took it to the dealer today and they called and said there is a tech bulletin to update the software to fix this problem. They updated and they drove it only to have the same problem. They called and said they were going to have to call and talk to a Ford engineer, truck is spending the nite inside the shop at the dealer. So I'm not really happy with mine at this moment.

I'd rather do an ipad conversion now! IMO
