Default electrical issue ?

my 2012 ford f150 xlt 4 x 4 has been in the shop once with this issue and they ran a test and replaced battery ( truck had 60 miles on it when it happened the first time ) . lights on and dash lights bright ever since i bought the truck . coming home they dimmed down ( dash lights ) , so i thought this was abnormal because they were always bright lights on or off . after the dealer visit , theu would dim down when turning lights on and this was what the service manager told me they were supposed to do . well the other day ( lights on and dash lights dim ) they turned bright again and havent dimmed down . is it possible i have some kind of short ? ill call the dealer again tomorrow and see what they say but hoping someone might have had a similar experience or possible insight that could resolve the issue . not an issue ?

Default

I know that with the auto function on...when your lights come on your dash lights will dim...this is because it's now dark and the dash lights don't need to be extremely bright...when you turn your lights on during the day time your dash lights should be brighter. you may need to adjust your dimmer also...

Default auto function

im assuming your are talking the light switch turned to that auto position . ive never used the auto position , i always just turn to on position and turn off when i stop . dash lights were dimming for a while when i turned the lights on but the other day dash lights just brightened while i was driving along and have stayed that way for 3 days now .
