I looked but I get different answers...

Big difference between RMS and peak, I have yet to see a 40,000 RMS system. There is a LOT to quality sound besides throwing a system in there that says 2000 peak watts. A quality built system running 1800 RMS can blow away a 10,000 peak "sloppy" setup.
Also, if you are looking at a speaker tha they sell at Walmart now, I wuold steer away as stock is still probably better. I have some kicker stuff still from before they went and designed their stuff to be affordable and sold everywhere and it kicks ***, but honestly you are better off going to find something at a quality sound store than walmart or BestBuy. (It did make me laugh that you put down BestBuy and the stuff they sell but had a link to Walmart lmao)

Make sure the walmart stuff is the same. Often times (and without the public realizing this) electronics sold at walmart are missing important features. The manufacturers make a one off model of their product that is missing features and sell it at walmart for cheaper. The model number is usually identical but contains an added suffix that most people would never realize means that the product is missing some features.
I don't know if that would be true for speakers, or how, but do check into it. There's usually a reason it's cheaper at walmart.
Also, well said on difference between watts and quality. I have a 400watt RMS sub in my home theater that will blow away 2000+ watts RMS subs you find in car audio in terms of both sound quality and quantity.

Granted the kicker stuff you buy at Walmart is still going to be the top of the line at Walmart or Best Buy, but for what you are paying you can still get a lot better models from other brands at higher end auido shops or online.

I would just look online or or go to pro shop. You will be happier in the long run.
If you are planning on just using the head unit, look for speakers with a good sensitivity rating as they will use the limited watts from the stock HU better and will sound better than those with a lower sensitivity rating. This was one of the selling points for the infinity Kappas. Two years and they still sound great. Keep in mind you will not get any bass as these are basically mids and may need to add a small powered sub to round out the sound.

This is good. Thanks for all the discussion about where to buy and what to buy. A question for y'all, from what you know of, what is the best set up and what's the worst (ones to stay away from)? And what do you have in your truck? (Door speakers type, speakers under back seat, amp, etc) and did you change out the speakers on the pillars, corner posts.

It's not necessarily bad. If the dvd player at walmart has all the features you want and is cheaper then similar dvd players you can find anywhere else, then it offers you the best value and is a good purchase. I don't think the manufactures make worse quality products, I think they just leave features out.
It's just important to realize this when doing comparison shopping. Sometimes the features that are left out on the walmart product are something you might use (like 2 HDMI inputs on a TV instead of 4). if you only are ever going to hook up 2 devices, then the walmart TV would be fine, but if you needed more devices and didn't realize till after you bought the TV that the walmart version only had 2, you might regret not spending the extra $20 for the best-buy one.
