Hypertech is the only programmer I can find right now for the 2009’s, however I am holding out for a SCT or Edge to come available, hopefully soon.

i wonder why the same tuner for the 08 has the same part number as the 09?and dont take this the wrong way but dont believe every thing some people claim their product will do as far as horse power.and its going to take more than a tuner to stay up with the 09 hemi.

True but with the 6spd auto the 0-60s are very close. Crew cab 09 Ram
7.4sec and 7.9 on the F150 add in 40hp and the gap will close. (car&driver)
On another note :
Dam it Ford you ALWAYS loose the horse power race. GRR
Hey BOZ why the Edge/SCT?
I will dyno before and after to see what the gain is and report back.
Any issues with warranty?

Does anyone know what this does? Is it a remap? How do you gain the hp? And how much will it be ? Also factory warranty issues? Ill try it if I can keep my warranty .

Performance enhancers will always void warranty if something fails and its found on your truck.Downloaders leave a foot print in the system.Boxes general do not as they are after the computer box changing the signal.Old saying "YOU PLAY,YOU PAY"

After looking at many of the tuners, I found the two best and most popular are SCT and Edge. They offer the most bang for your buck in performance gains especially if you also invest in a CAI and performance exhaust system. They are more expensive but you get what you pay for.

There are many topics on this forum that talk about Tuners, what they do and if they void your warranty, I won’t go into too much detail but basically, Programmers/Tuners improves your over all truck performance adding more horsepower and better gas mileage. I have never heard of someone’s warranty being voided because they added a tuner. You can reset the factory default settings before you take it to the dealer and unless they can prove the tuner cause the problem, they can’t void your warranty.

I've been looking at the Hypertech only because I have one on my Chevy 2500 Diesel and it worked great. However, I talked with one shop who sold them all and they recommended the edge primarily because you can set it on the "fly" and they thought it gave more gains. I think that being able to set it on the fly would help "especially" when adjusting the shift points and firmness. Any thoughts out there?

edge tuners and transmission failure go together like peas and carrots. That being said, get an SCT tuner from vmptuning.com, lasotaracing.com, or troyerperformance if you are willing to pay the premium and wait 8 weeks.

I checked with lasotaracing and vmp, they don't have the tuner for the 09's as yet.
