noise from steering column (2012)
noticed it the other day..sounds like something is rubbing inside the steering column, its noticeable in parking lots or sharp corners. itll make the noise sitting still so I looked between the wheel and the column and its not rubbing there... It only does it one place which is a little odd (if you turn left itll do it one time as you turn left and the once more as it returns back to center).
anyone else had this?
off to the dealer as soon as I have time I suppose.

sorry to hear this man. although i havent experienced this problem, I have had multiple issues with my 11 eco. These trucks cost too much for all the problems a lot of us are having. I am starting to think I should of purchased a Silverado. Good luck with the issue. Ford Service Department where I live is horrible. I hope you have a better experience.

im hoping its just something not sitting in the loom or a wire holder correctly...guess well find out.
this would be my first actual problem with the truck and thats what warranties are for

My steering column squeaks and the chrome trim ring around the drivers side ac vent. My 09 did the same thing. I usually have the radio loud enough to where I don't hear it.

I checked once but not thoroughly from all angles or anything...Ill look again as something like that is definitely capable of causing this noise

My 2011 F150 HD makes a rattle from the steering column when driving. It happens just from the vibration of the road. I took the plastic covering off the column twice and can't nail it down. It also happens when you tap the steering wheel. I am wondering if its inside wheel itself.

there are wires and such underneath the airbag assembly so its definitely possible.
As best as I can tell this is in the column, no rattles or anything

totally forgot about this, they replaced the clock spring and its been quiet ever since. They said the spring was not broken but put a new one in anyway, service adviser said it may not have been seated correctly...never had an airbag light and the noise has been gone for about a month now
