Question How to remove the navigation from the dash

I need to get behind my Sony Navigation screen to see if the backup camera wire is connected. Has any one removed the unit from their 09 Lariat. Any help would be appreciated . I want to know what I need to do

Go to Detroit. Park in a dimmly lit area. Walk away for 20 minutes.

lol I love the previous two answers.

You can try and remove the plate on the dash above the unit. you may have a center speaker there if you have the premium audio package. If you pull that plate off then you might be able to see the back of the nav unit.

Good luck. I hope that helps.

Why don't you just take it back to the dealer? It is still under warranty unless you have driven over 36k miles in the past year.

If the camera is not working you may also want to check the connection at the tailgate to see if it is still connected. There is a connection down near the gap between the tailgate and the bottom of the bed that can be removed if you need to take the tailgate off of the truck. Just something simple to try before removing the Nav unit and all the trim.

Default Navigation removal

Thanks JAC4X4 the site was very helpful,. I am installing a reverse backup camera so warranty doesn't apply. I may not have to remove the unit but just wanted to know how if I needed to. Thanks for all the comments.

Sorry, I might be confused. If you have the Navigation screen, the reverse camera is part of it already, no?
