Default 2013 F-150 Extra Cab STX driver side window post hand holder

Do to bad back and knees I have a hard time getting into my truck. The passenger side has a hand hold on the window post but not the drivers side. I have seen ford trucks with them on the drivers side. Is there a means on the drivers side to add one under the plastic trim? I don't want to pull my steering wheel out so I need to some how get a way to get a hand hold to help pull myself up. Any ideas? Thanks

Jim

They don't make one for our trucks, that was one of the first things I noticed missing when I bought my truck. I suggest you get a set of Amp Research power boards, they deploy when you open the door and retract when you close it. They drop down and out about 4" making it very easy to get in and out without having to put excess pressure on the steering wheel. They also come with leds for ground lighting.

I put a set on my truck and love them.

Yes I’ve seen them but on a pension I can’t justify the 4K just for one side. They are neat. I’m thinking I need a fabricator. lol. Thanks

I forget what to search for to find the thread. Somebody here with a physical disability opened up the pillar and welded a handle on, similar to the handles on the other 3 doors. Try some searching.

Also, Amp steps are about $1500. Is that CAD with crazy import markup or something?

I’ll look for that. I haven’t seen Amp steps. I use a plastic step stool when uneven surface makes it to high.

I have one of those I’ll give it a try. I don’t want to pull on the steering wheel. I also have balance problems so need to have a good hand hold and the drivers side window post and a weak grip is a disaster waiting to happen.

The AMP power boards are about $1450 / pair. --Edit.. Spiky beat me to it.
