Make sure to go with the Stainless Steel kit. (Do NOT get the plastic chrome plated or worse: the DYI "trim to fit").
The Stainless kit are custom fit for your truck, will not fade or peel & will look excellent.

I suspect the majority of the 09-14 forum is mostly old white dudes. not that I think that really has any relevance here.
I'm 17 and drive a '12. I want to do chrome power fold tow mirrors, lariat ptm chrome handels, lariat rectangular running boards and a ptm grill with a 14 insert. I am vinyl wrapping the rockers and possibly the bumpers.
Now you guys got me thinkin about the tailgate.

I'm 48 and chrome is & always was my favorite color next to my Ruby Red f150.
Yea wanna see more chrome??? Look at my 1985 Bronco II show truck I built years ago & ran the jamboree & ISCA indoor show circuit in my garage pics.
The all black (or murdered out - or whatever many call it) is better looking for a jeep rock crawler, JMO..... Though I bought black rims for my winter wheel & tire combo last year, it just doesn't look right, looks too bland & looks more like an "off road" rig wannabe. (If I wanted a jeep or off road buggy to wheel off road, - I will).
It's all Personal preferences in what you like & I build my trucks for ME - not anyone else.
If we all thought exactly the same way, it'd be a boring world. Lol!

I really like those fender flares! What are they?? Your truck looks great.
Also, I guess I'm opposite. I think it would look nice with JUST the middle trim...but looks nice either way.

[MENTION=1966]shortride[/MENTION], You did such a great job on your previous truck, I don't think you'll make a mistake with the Limited. Do what you feel will look good.
I really like the trim & I think it sets it off good.
Not a bad idea to not install the middle piece if the want. Just install the top & bottom pieces and if you ever change your mind, you have the middle piece to put on if you want.
I also agree with gDMJoe and actually like the Platinum tailgate the best.
