Default FORD Dealership Damaged ROUSH Cat-back

2-3 months after I had my truck into my local FORD dealership my exhaust started rattling...Upon inspection I noticed it appeared that my spot welds had failed and my pipe was smashed into my spring. At the time I suspected the dealership damaged it but wasn't 100% sure if that was the case or if all the welds just failed.

ROUSH sent me a new kit that CLEARLY had twice as much weld around all the hangers than the first kit I received.

Fast forward a year later....My truck needs warranty work AGAIN. I take it too the same dealership. This time I walk my service adviser out to the truck and show him my exhaust is not damaged. Tell him the story....we both agree there is nothing wrong with my exhaust. I take it a step FURTHER and take a picture of the hanger, that was previously damaged & replaced, he witnesses this...

Saturday 5/17

Tonight 5/21 I pic up the truck and low and behold it's damaged AGAIN...Rear hanger is all bent, middle hanger is snapped in two and the pipe is shoved up into the spring. The tail pipes are now touching the bottom of my bumper. Some how or another they smashed my ROUSH exhaust up into the bottom of my truck.

Of course the original service adviser from Saturday isn't in tonight so I grab another service adviser, point it all out, and I'm told I'll have to call back tomorrow and speak directly to the service manager.

Friday I'm supposed to drive my truck to MN (1500mi round trip) with a rattling exhaust.

I can't decide which I'm more upset about...the fact that I pointed out the concern upfront and it was clearly not documented OR the fact that no one at this dealership had the INTEGRITY to admit they damaged my property.

This particular dealership isn't a "ROUSH" dealer....so we'll see how this goes....

What is causing the damage?

I would be looking for a different dealership to take my truck too. I'm sure they will make it right with you.

Wow! I feel for you man. That flat out sucks! I wish you the best of luck. I hope that they step up to the plate since you documented it all, before it even happened. Good call on the photos! Let us know how this one pans out.

Validation for the use of "idiot".

Validation for the stance: "sometimes the minimum wage is too high".

Thank you....I'm asking for a whole new catback.

The entire reason I took this guy out to my truck was so he'd stress to the tech to pay attention. Didn't happen.

I'm not sure? It's like the truck was lowered down on something forcing my exhaust upward into my suspension. It must have been a hell of a force as well since that metal hanger was snapped clean in half.

Talk to 2003_lightning. He has the same issue. The leaf spring catches on the exhaust when the truck is jacked up or put in a lift as it drops below the pipe. Once weight is put back onto the rear axle, the leaf is still caught under the exhaust. I witnessed this first hand when he was switching his blocks out. As soon as he lowered the truck it caught, and it wasn't the first time it has happened.
