Maybe a little daylight.

The fresh air inlet may not be obvious.

Below the cowl on the passenger side...basically on the high portion of the firewall, you can see two round holes. One is about a half inch and the other about 3/8". Then up in the flat portion of the cowl, there is about a 1" hole under a plastic shroud.

Using smoke generating device, and with the heater on, and recirc off, and engine off, I did get a fair amount of smoke drawn into the truck interior from that area of the cowl.

If these are the air inlets, it's not obvious, and would be something impossible to add an air filter to.

If the 10 is anything like the 13, there is NO cabin air filter. According to the 13 manual....

Air Distribution and Filtering

NOTE: The air distribution system of this vehicle cannot be equipped with a cabin air filter.

There are 2 sources of air available to the air distribution system:
  • Outside air
  • Recirculated air
Air enters the passenger compartment from the:
  • instrument panel registers.
  • floor duct.
  • windshield defroster.
  • side window demisters.
  • rear footwell duct (if equipped).
Passenger compartment air is exhausted from the vehicle through open windows or body air vents on the back panel of the cab.

anyone know the air inlet location, or how you access the air inlet blend door?

Bumping this ancient thread because the question of how to add a cabin air filter to the 09-14's still is open.

If you look at this video with the dash removed (@3:04) it still isn't clear where the intake is that feeds the heater core plenum. At least I couldn't see it.

There has got to be a way of putting even a coarse (20-50 micron?) filter screen on the intake to knock down dust a little bit. Don't care if it needs replaced 2-3 times a year if it's something that can be gotten at through the cowl.

Someone could make a lot of money if they figured out a retrofit.
