I did some googling, apparently there used to be a retrofit kit but sounds like it is no longer available, I couldnt locate one, maybe someone else will have better luck. Didnt find any other successful mod.

I've never actually looked in my truck, so maybe I am wrong. But I deal with a lot of vehicles at work and the cabin filters are behind the glove box. It's something most people don't check, so I've seen quite a few dirty ones that needed to be replaced. I see no reason why our F150s wouldn't have cabin filters, but I'll try to look into it later

I wish I still had the Escape I would take pics for you .
But it is as easy as it sounds , measure the opening of the intake .. ( it is under the leaf screen)
Go to Wal Mart , look at the Fram box's pic one that is close pull filter check to see if is the correct size , a bit bigger
take home , make a template cut filter to correct size , drop in the plenum ...bingo bango ..your done .
I'm 99% certain our trucks do not have a cabin filter

not really it is under the leaf screen so it is some what protected
remember these are cheepy wal mart fram filters $7-$10 , change when its crappy
this is really that easy , if you own an exacto knife you can do this
If I ever get my butt around to doing this on the 150 I'll take some pics

Fresh air inlet for F150 a/c
I have a 2013 and wonder if any forum guys might know where the inlet point is for the fresh air.
I see lots of guys would like to add an air filter.
I'd be happy enough to block off the inlet, so in effect I'd have Recirc on all the time.
Researching this further I've found that under 50 degrees outside, Ford forces the Recirc to drop out after 5 minutes, thus forcing you to receive outside air in the cabin, whether you want it or not. Lots of brands like Nissan and Lexus do not do this!
I've looked under the cowl cover beneath the wiper blades and don't see an air opening, on the passenger side, anyway.
Tips appreciated.

There is no filter behind the glove box on my '13. I've spent plenty of time back there doing "specialty" wiring additions. -No filter/housing
But, I too am interested in fresh air augmentation...

When you were back there did you by chance see the fresh air/recirc diverter door?
If I can ever find the inlet, I'm planning on sealing it closed in order to avoid smog, pollen and other vehicles diesel smoke.
The ability to close it off would then be the same operation as allowed by Lexus, Nissan, and many other makes. If I want to crack a window, I always can!
