I always wear my belt but my habit is: start the vehicle, buckle the seatbelt, foot on brake, put into gear, release the parking brake.

I hate the chime (both: seatbelt and parking brake). Time to build some new habits.

Seatbelt, start, foot on brake, release parking brake, drop in gear.
This is going to be hard. I may need a "pre-flight" cheat sheet.

Maybe I'll unplug the buckle connection under the seat.

(approximately 1 minute). * step 3 must be completed within 50 secs after the safety belt warning light turns off. 3. buckle then unbuckle the seat belt nine times, ending in the seat belt unbuckled. * after step 3 the restraint warning light, (airbag light) will turn on for three (3) seconds. 4. within approximately seven (7) seconds of the light turning off, buckle then unbuckle the safety belt. * the restraint system warning light will flash four, (4) times per second for 3 seconds for confirmation you can do this for the passenger side also!!! *NOTE in step 3. after three times buckling and unbuckling the restraint warning light lit up in my truck. SO I WENT TO THE NEXT STEP, (STEP 4). waited 3 seconds and i buckled and unbuckled. in the buckle /unbuckle procedure do it some what slowly and watch for the light. it may not take 9 times. then again maybe i have the only truck that worked this way.
Just saying this worked for my 2011 XLT Screw too. It took 3 times on step number 3 for me.

Same here... 09 XLT, first time was a charm. Did both seats while sitting in the driver seat. (3 times for step 3). Awesome!

then one day i got nailed 2 minutes from home, going from Home Depot to Canadian Tire 3 miles away for no seatbelt.

Default Seat belt extension

I use a 6" seat belt extension and just keep it plugged in all the time... More comfortable too!

i've tried everything under the sun to get my chime to go off, nothing has worked.NOTHING! tried everything twice,if not 3xs.nothing!ive' searched and research dozens of websites, tried'em all, nothing!

mine's an 04 xl.....ive noticed ppl with 03-04 models are complaining they're having trouble too.

what am i doing wrong? it cant be that hard to turn the chime off.the directions are simple.its either a glitch in the program,a screw up from previous owner or something else.

i'm beyond aggravated,im determined.
