Default How did you mount your LED cubes?

Alright guys I should be knocking out the LED bar in my lower grill any day now. The next step is a couple of LED spots on each side behind the grill of my 2010 FX4 similar to this Stage 3 truck.

How is everyone mounting their small cube leds to the grill? I see a lot of front pictures but no pictures of how they are mounted.

They are bolted to the metal grille support. So basically mounted sideways. I also have a set of cubes there. But no pictures unfortunately as I am away from my truck for another 4 days.

Wouldn't that mess with the beam pattern coming out of the light to mount them that way? I can see mounted them straight up and down or even upside down but sideways seems like it throw your spread (even if for spots) in the wrong directions. No?

I have spots in, it is a perfectly square beam pattern. Now if you put in some rigid D2 driving pattern I could see that. But a L bracket would fix that no problem.

If you zoom in you can see from before I trimmed the bolt down.

What cubes did you go with? Look like you used the middle hole on the grill support bracket, same one I have my eye on. Are your lights 6 leds or 4 leds?

The cubes are just a cheap eBay hyperspot, they are 6 led.

I wanted to keep things simple with my Rigid D2 dually "cubes". They compliment the rest of the lights and set up that I am currently running. Nothing special, but they are very impressive lights & fit perfect in between my front license plate frame and line-X coated Nfab front light bar.

Cut the holes a bit bigger inside the opening and used spare washers from the top of shocks that I had in the tool bob to hold them in place.
