Default How bad is the smell of not catted downpipes?

I live in an area of no emissions testing but I understand the non catted pipes smell pretty bad at start up. I feel this truck stinks a lot like gas at start up anyway as compared to the 3.5 in my Taurus or the 3.5 in the wife's Explorer. Thoughts?

That's what I was afraid of. Guess I'll have to spend the money on the catted versions. Thanks!
