Home-made raptor style grille lights
#21
What style of light does the raptor have? I've been toying with this idea for awhile but don't have any clue on the positioning on the truck and exactly what type of light housing they have.

Roughly 6" iirc. One in the middle, then I aligned the other 2 evenly with the x and y axis on my grill. I guess it depends on your grill bit mine are roughly 6" apart.

Black thunder. Those are close. Mine have 4 LED's in each pod. I took 3M emblem tape and adhered them to the top part of the grill (pick this up at any automotive store). The only problem I had was the middle one I could not get in the middle without cutting the grill. So I used a hack saw blade and cut just under where the pod stopped (on my brand new 50k truck!!!!! It was nerve racking) and taped it in. The 3 M tape is awesome stuff. Will stick to anything if preped properly. Use rubbing alcohol to prep prior to installation.

Awesome, that's exactly what I needed to know/see. Thanks man, I appreciate that. I think I will do the 3M tape thing like you have, I was changing my mind thinking I should make a bracket but after seeing yours I will just do what you did. I will have to give them a coat of black spray, I accidentally ordered the chrome instead of black but thats ok, nothing plasti dip wont fix...Hopefully my 5 per pod LEDS arnt over the top. I don't imagine they would be since your 4 per pod look good. Even if they are Ill order the same ones you bought, I cant complain since it was only $6 for all 3.
your set up looks good

Eg78. Here are the pods I ordered. Love them

I used clear silicone glue to secure the LED pods into the black case. Worked like a charm and should last virtually forever.

Yea I was looking to make a bracket also. Then after looking at several other threads on here I really didn't like the look of the bracket in the background. To me it made it LOOK like an add on. The way I fixed them I think it makes them look more factory. You really have to walk up and take a very close look at them to see they are aftermarket.
