WOW! Great job! Looks good. I love how this sounds. Plus there is still one more silencer to remove when I get My AEm intake with ETI. Im gona save that silencer for that.

Definitely going to look into this...much better option than a $400 intake. I think this and a K&N drop in filter will flow almost as good as a Volant or similar intake. Great job!

Looks good, but it might not be a bad idea to install a hump hose to help with flexibility.
This is one I made for my SHO with parts from intakehose.com as well
you can see the hump hose and I also have my filter in between the inner and outer fender. There is even a part of a 150 in there see if you can spot it

So what's the sound like? I am guessing more throaty or more whistling. I seemed to here a little change with the gotts mod. Just in noise.

What's the point? Strictly for sound? This wouldn't add power. If you think you have more power that's only because the engine is louder therefore it sounds like you have more power.

Found this thread again after looking for a days or so. The OP said he loves the sound. It's been determined there is little to no HP gains. I Amy do this to just clean up the engine bay. Make more visible room

Does anyone know of a common local type store or shop that would carry these parts. I think I would like to try it but hate to spend 50 bucks online and hate the way it looks or sounds. At least if I get them at a local shop I could return everything but the tube that's cut. I live in western Ky. But by local shop I mean a shop that would sell this kind of parts that could be found anywhere.

Not sure about KY, but I went to my local plumbing store and picked up 3" DR35 sewer pipe and made this version.

My goals in doing this were, clean up engine compartment, get some throaty intake sound, and spend little money. For less than $35 bucks, I got all of that, and even though I know it does not add any HP, it just feels better, not sure if it is just the sound, or it actually is more responsive on the low end, but it feels/runs better, so..bonus! I also removed the little snorkel (Gotts Mod) which added some intake sound.

I personally like the mod, and feel it is worth the money, even if you spend a little more on actual "intake" parts.

You guys might like what i tried... For $4 i ordered the snorkle from f250 and i can hear it sucking a little... I didnt like the "gotts" with the hole being open inside the engine bay... This makes more sense to me..

Still gets the air from outside the engine bay ("cold")... Clips right into the old ones spot.. and is obviously larger
