Ford did a good job with these intakes. Mello is right, the air gets directed under the left (vehicle's left) headlight the up the fender. This is done by all the rubber partitions. Then the little snorkle sucks up ambiant air. It's better than any of that after market expensive crap. I did this all for the sound only. Plus I removed all of that rubber stuff and the snorkle. This is why I said it was "cold" air. The quotations meant that it looks like the tipical cold air units that just suck in hot air. The stock system is more cold air than anything except for the Volant or S and B units with a scoop that runs behind the bumper.

Can you post a quick "How To"? As to what parts you used, size, cost, etc??

Thanks!

But, regardless - props!
Absolutely. One minor quibble, CAI if done correctly can provide some boost for, some engines, however, at best 10HP in high revving 4 cylinder engines. In the scheme of things and dicounting the effort and negatives of a real CAI (like water ingestion) its definitely not worth it.
BTW CATBACK systems are also useless.
In many instances given how modern engines regulate intake and exhaust pressures, after market intakes and exhaust may actually make HP worse.
To get more HP you essentially have to modify the entire intake and exhaust system, cams AND computer. Something that costs thousands of dollars Anything less and the results are zero or negative.
