Default poor gas mileage

Have 2010 F150 CC, 4.6 3 valve motor. 160,000 miles. Been getting about 11-15 MPG around town. last tank was about 7 MPG. No missing or hard to start or any running problems that I know of. Have not had any maintenance on engine so far.
Wonder what I should check or change to get the mileage back up.
Ideas please.
TIA
Rick

Spark plugs would be a good place to start as well as say a new air filter. Just because it seems to be running OK doesn't mean it is. That is why they have the Maintenance intervals in the owner's manual

I bought a 2010 with 158K miles and have the same motor (4.6 3V). I’m getting 15mpg after adding 160lbs. of 20x10 wheels and 280lbs of off-road tires with a ton of rolling resistance and unstrung weight. Both of which are mileage killers. Before that I was averaging 18mpg. My maintenance included:

1) Oil/filter change
2) Air filter change
3) New OEM platinum spark plugs
4) Transmission filter/fluid change
5) MAF removed and cleaned properly

Luckily the diff fluid appeared to be fresh. Next preventative maintenance pieces will include:

1) Serpentine belt
2) Water pump
3) T-stat
4) Coolant flush

Only thing I have not done is the plugs and MAF cleaned.
Will do that and see what happens.
Thanks

Make sure you don’t have a brake sticking. I had a bad caliber that knocked my mileage down about 5 mpg. I couldn’t feel it and didn’t smell anything for a couple months until it got worse. I put 4 new calibers on and now I’m back up around 18mpg.
