Higher coolant temperatures
Hi all,
I've been monitoring some temperatures lately after installing my Full Race CaC. I've been noticing my coolant temperatures are consistently over 200 reaching upwards of 221.
I am wondering if any other owners of this intercooler are seeing higher coolant temperatures.
I am doing a coolant flush today to see if that had any effect, next step will be a thermostat replacement.
The truck is a 2012 3.5 eb ~70k miles.

Ambient outside temps? Are you pulling a trailer? Flat ground or hills?
I would change your thermostat and clean out your radiator.

I had the system flushed at the dealership today it seems to have normalized. Back down to seeing 190 when truck isn't being pushed.
The heat soak is still getting the truck up to about 210 (215 if truck is sitting still ) with my foot mashing the petal.
Ambient temperature today was 90*f and no towing there definitely is a noticeable change in coolant temps with the intercooler sitting in front of the radiator.
Does the torque app allow you to play with fan settings? Thinking about having them turn on at a different heat range. A bit lower.

Wild guess: have you needed to replace the coolant? Water pump? Coolant temp sensor?
Your thermostat should be operating and opening only at the set temperature. I can't imagine that a larger CAC would block the air enough to cause temperatures to go up that much, much more so, if I am not incorrect the coolant temp sensor is on the engine block.

The coolant in my '12 with around 65k miles is really ugly looking. I'm going to do a good flush sometime soon on it in hopes of cleaning the system out before refilling with new coolant.

I ran to the dealership for this one spent 165$ for a pressure flush and a bg additive with a refill worth the money.
