HIDs vs halogen
I have a 2011 Lariat 4" Rancho and 35s. I think my lights are almost perfect, I rarely get flashed and it REALLY lights ups the road. I want the FX4 lights (dark surround). And thought about the newer HIDs. But with that said, I have a 2014 Explorer with HIDs, and my truck lights up the road SO SO much better than the Explorer. I hate how there is a line on the HIDs. Maybe its normal, first Ive really drove at night with them, but there is a line and everything above the line is black. Should I adjust them up? All your talk about swapping for them made me want them, but after driving my Explorer I don't think I do if they are all like that.

I have a 2013 FX4 with the HID's and they also have a distinct "cutoff" line. Anything above line is dark, but I still love them. I have never had a vehicle with brighter lights than my F150. It really illuminates the road/area in front of me. Especially on High beams...they will blind the hell out of someone.

1. If you didn't re aim your halogens after your lift and they're lighting up the trees, you're blinding everyone right now.
2. What exactly above the sharp cutoff of projectors do you need to see? If they're aimed right you will be able to see anything on the road or sides safely.
3. If you're happy with the halogens, then just keep them. Personally I thought the stock halogen lights were awful, so I added OEM HID's and it improved the usable light by a huge margin.
