HID Retrofit DRL problem
I just heard that I would lose the DRL Daytime Running Lights if I do a HID retrofit on my headlights. I live in Canada and we have to have DRL on at all times. I was told they won't work because the DRL work at reduced power 80%.
Wondering if anyone here found a solution to keep the DRL with the retrofit other than using Halos or LEDs.

So, run a power wire from an acc fuse in underhood fuse panel, just test light them and find one that has power only when key is on, there is like 10 in a group. Run that wore to the power side of where your hid kit picks up remote of your truck. Keep in mind your truck low beam stays unplugged. With that one having 12 volt and the other wire grounded, the low beams turn on whenever the key is in the on position. The beauty of this is not using or cutting factory wires at all. I found a shop that can get relays that turn on at lower voltages, but went this way because my low beams are on all the time even with high beams and they don't have to warm up after switching high beams off. Much brighter with no flicker. Loving the setup so far.

I would just wire up my fog lights to be on once the engine starts. If that would suffice for DRL's in canada?

I was going to but I don't even have it connected to the drl circuit now. I was gonna tee it until I realized it'll just be on so it'd be redundant having it hooked to drl too.
As for the fogs that would work but I like low beams on while my high beams are on, granted this is only a good idea with a four headlight system like projectors are. Not bi xenon hid kits
