HID Headlights - Corrosion in headlight connection
Hi everyone - My HIDs have been acting up lately. Started with a flicker when hitting a bump with hi-beams on and earlier this week progressed to not even engaging the headlights. After taking the headlight out and inspecting the wiring, I came to notice that the connection between the headlight socket from my truck and the HID wiring harness had some serious corrosion in it. Just curious if anyone else has seen this or has any preventative suggestions for this. I cleaned up the connections and all seems to be working well now, but hoping to prevent any future problems. Any thoughts you have are welcome. Thank you!

Get some 3M rubberized insulating tape that only sticks to itself. Wrap the connection starting from the harness, then onto the connectors and then finish off on the other side on the harness. You'll then have a weather tight seal that you can easily remove later without any mess. You can also put a dab of dielectric grease on the terminal connections to help keep moisture out.
