Default HELP!! With New Ford SYNC and Storeing Data

New guy here and first time ford owner. I just traded my 2009 GMC in and got my favorite truck I've ever owned F150 King Ranch 4x4!!! I'm just having issues with figuring out how to store data on the hard drive in the truck like music, pics etc..... I would really appreciate any help on these matters. Also any advice for a new ford owner ie tricks and tips ????? thanks in advance.

SYNC doesn't store data; it makes a USB device (thumb drive, iPod) accessible.

jukebox has a hard drive. Not sure if it is set up to hold pictures though. when cd is in drive hit the red record button on the touch screen, tracks will then start to be burned into the hard drive. hope this helps

Ditto. You can also store up 25 or 35 pictures too.

Wynnewood Farm, unfortunately you CANNOT use the USB drive to do this. You MUST copy to CD and then upload to your Nav system from CD. This is one thing that I just don't get either. If Ford put a USB port on here, why in the heck didn't they allow us to upload using the USB port? For the Nav Home Screen photos and the Jukebox.

Anyway, here's the instructions. And, checkout my Photo Album to see how it looks.

Saving music to your jukebox:
To record (save) music to your jukebox:
1. Ensure that the system is on.
2. Insert a CD into the system. The CD tab will appear.
3. Select ‘Record’ on the touchscreen.
4. Select either individual tracks or press ‘Select All’ to record the entire CD.
Note: The system will default to selecting all tracks if none are selected.
5. Press ‘Start Recording’.
The progress will show at the bottom of the screen.
When the recording process is finished, the system will save your track(s) / CD to the Jukebox. It will take anywhere from 20-30 minutes per CD...as it doesn't just copy them, it actually records them...slowly.

Loading pictures to your Home Screen:
Your navigation system allows you to save and view up to 32 photos. To access:
1. Ensure that you are on the Home Screen. (Press at the bottom left of any screen to access.)
2. Touch the left side of the home screen to initiate the left screen photo display and saved photos screen.
3. Select the ‘Add’ button on the touchscreen. The following disclaimer will appear, “Please confirm the supported photo formats”. Just say OK.
Then, if you turn on Randomize, a different photo will show each time you start the truck. If you leave Randomize off, it will show the same photo each time.

Rich50, some of us do have hard drives on our trucks.

Oh, and Wynnewood Farm, forgot to mention what a smart man you are for trading a new Jimmy on THE BEST truck in the world.

I also found out (unless I am wrong), that if you record songs in MP3 format to a CD (have not tried to a DVD yet), SYNC will not light up the RECORD option so you cannot record/transfer to SYNC from an MP3 CD source. As you stated, even with a USB stick, or an iPOD/iTOUCH connected through the USB, the RECORD button does not light up either. I wonder if there is a hack to override this somewhere...

A bit of an annoyance. Its taken 3 nights, maybe 3 hours at a time to upload 300 songs from old CDs. SOme so old that the song titles are not in the CD (wav) format so they are recorded as "unknown/unknown" and you have to edit it immediately, as the next song on the CD is also "unknown/unknown" and would overwrite the previous. Argh!!!!
