Subs on stock head unit??

Subs on stock head unit??
I have a 2011 f150 5.0 xlt. No touch screen or anything fancy. Wanting to put a 10" kicker comp shallow in the back with a kicker zx200.2 amp. Am I able to do this with my stock head unit? Downsides to doing it this way if it's possible? I'm no speaker guy, give me some info. Thanks

You need a Line Out Converter. There are tons of them out there, but don't go cheap on that. This will take the signal from your speaker wires and change it into an RCA output signal that an amp can interpret. Run your power and ground and 12v switched on/off from the passenger side kick panel and its that easy. Do some searching around and you might find some more details, but this is the basics.

PAC AOEM FRD24. I have one, and have both front and rear channels run to my 4 channel amp, and a left/right run from the 4 channel to the 2 channel sub amp. It is plug and play, and leaves all factory wiring untouched. If I remember correctly, it has a remote wire built in to it. Just splice in a length of wire sufficient to reach your amp, and run your power/ground/RCA to the amp.

bigred is right the pac frd24 is the best way to go. that's what I did and it does have a remote wire to turn on the amp. It has the rca's labeled and easy to install.

I have that setup on mine...
But i changed the original speakers they SUCK so bad that not even the sub fixed the situation......
So I got a alpine amp....4 Morels and I am very happy....
PAC module not necessary to cut anything....just plug and play.....

I put a single 12 inch kicker under my rear seat the setup with box amp speaker and wiring kit was 430. And I did the install myself. The pac harness is like 25 bucks.

OK here are some pics of my setup for my sub. I bought the kit from ebay the seller is great I contacted him about a sub/amp/and wiring upgrade which he did all for free due to the stuff in the listing being discontinued. he is a easy guy to deal with and has fast shipping. He also offers a dual sub setup where is runs the full length of the rear seat and the amp in the middle and the subs on both sides. (http://www.ebay.com/itm/221024809224...84.m1439.l2649)
The first pic is where I mounted the bass control ****. I just took the **** out of the housing and mounted it on the panel and with a heat gun just heated up the kicker plate on the housing to get the glue to release and while it was still hot pushed it on and the glue holds fine.
The second pic I wanted to show how the box doesn't stick out past the seats. The pic didn't turn out to good cause the damn snow we got is messing with my phone and wanting to focus on that.
The third is a pic of the sub, it is a downward firing sub.
The forth is the top of the box and where the amp mounts.
