Add me to the "shudder at takeoff when turning" club. I took it to the dealer and he brought up the TSB. Scheduled for the clutch packs next week. I'm hoping that takes care of it. I'm not sure if it's gradually getting worse or I'm just getting more attuned to it and being more annoyed. Luckily it's under warranty.

Sailor and Tom,

Roadmaster Active Suspension.

I paid nothing for the clutch pack...truck was under warranty. Remember, changing it did nothing to resolve the issue.

If you search on this forum under my name and Roadmaster Active Suspension, you'll find a rather detailed post with a review. Should be back in 2011 time frame.

Also, on this forum...from a computer (not a mobile device), look in the right panel for the advertising. If you click on it, it takes you to the site and the lead picture is my truck - a Blue Flame FX2 towing a camper.

It changed everything.

Hey there,

Please send me a PM with your rig's year and mileage; I'll explore some options on this end.

Chad

Well the clutch packs were installed as per the TSB and it has alleviated the problem. I wish it were that easy for the rest of you.

Mine goes in tomorrow to assess. They think it may be clutch packs also. I notice shudder first thing after sitting for hours and also periodically after starting from a stop light or turning from a stop. It's more annoying than anything else.

My 2011 has a terrible shudder/ popping/ vibration from the rear end. It is noticeably worse when towing my boat. It makes a firm popping noise when just barely rolling and once the rear end heats up say on the interstate it vibrates like a wheel is loose... Very bad. Hardest when turning and rolling.

It started doing this around 75k miles. Dealer added the friction modifier and that lasted about two weeks. Now it is really bad. I have read that new clutch packs are only a temporary fix as is the friction modifier.

I am considering installing a Detroit tru trac or other aftermarket LS. Anyone have any experience with one of these?

I don't think Ford has a fix for this... At least my dealer doesn't and mine is out of warranty anyway.

Dealer replaced re clutch packs today. I'll update everyone after a few days. When they checked the history today, my truck had the clutch packs changed out at 60,000 Kms (when previous owner had it). Now, truck is just at 100,000 kms and they did the rear end again, totally free of charge, under warranty! Fingers crossed this will solve the issue. All symptoms pointed toward this fix.

It's been a week today, and the shuddering is gone! Looks like the clutch pack fixed the issue.

Yep, completely gone.....that seemed to have been the issue. I'm glad, as many have had it done, thinking that was the cause, and they still had the shudder afterwards. Fingers crossed.
