it's a black button. look for the rmst brain unit under the driver's side dash. from there, follow the wiring harnesses off it to look for it, but the harness is probably wrapped in tape. You might have to take off the lower steering column cover too and look in there.

Thanks

Look under the dash down by the brake petal or there abouts.

Are you guys talking about a factory remote start or a dealer installed? My dealer install one with a separate remote just for the remote start and that really stinks. My truck did not come with factory remote start, anybody knows if the dealer can install a Ford remote start using a single remote for remote start and lock/unlock ? Any idea of the cost? Thanks.

^09 or 10 factory remote start is the same as the basic 1-button Ford system installed by the dealer. I can't recall if it says Ford on the back of the fob, does yours?

The only Ford system that has one fob is the combo alarm and rmst system, and keyless entry that comes with a 6-button fob. You can disable the alarm if you don't like alarms. It can be bought online for around $225 or so. But a dealer will probably charge $400 or so for the system including installation. The part number for the system for 2010 trucks is AL3Z-19G364-A.

Default Remote start on by brand new (used) 2010 f150 won't work

I just bought my used f150 with 25, 000 miles and the remote start won't work. They told me to take it to a ford dealership as I bought it from a chevy dealership. I know everyone at the ford dealership...I have dealt with them for 12 years now. They said there is nothing they can do it was put on aftermarket. Now what??? I called the dealership where I bought it...they tell it's out of there hands. Help!!!

I'll try in this thread...
Just got a 2012 xlt and want to add a remote start and electric trailer brake.
ordered a 2000 series remote start BT4Z-19G364-A and brake controller, brake controller went in no problem, remote star should show up Monday.
All the talk about a program button and LED hidden under dash near steering column to adjust setting to your needs is a problem.
I've disassembled nearly everything and no button.
Has things changed that much between the 2010 & 2012?
this button seems to be the only 'user' way to change setting, without it I'm stuck with a dealer activating and making all further adjustments.

am i looking in the wrong place for a 2012?
