2014 F150 Sync problems with DTC's
Hi all, new member here. Joined for some guidance on diagnosing a sync problem on a new-to-me 2014 F150 XL. This is a base model truck but it does have sync, but does not have a touchscreen. It's the base style radio and also has steering wheel controls. I noticed that the phone buttons and aux button do not work, so I started digging deeper. I pulled the relevant fuses and none were blown. I used a snap on scan tool to pull the codes and got U0197-00 - (No communication with telephone control module) and U0253-00 (no communication with the API module). I pulled the connectors from the APIM under the dash on the module and and they looked fine, no corrosion or bad connections. I think it's fairly unlikely that both modules would be bad simultaneously, so I suspect the issue might be a fault in the wiring somewhere, possibly between the steering wheel buttons and the radio? I'm just looking for a place to start and where to check next for possible solutions before taking it to a dealer to diagnose further. Thanks in advance and I'll provide any additional info on request.
