Heated seats problem please help

You probably have this issue solved already but here is my recent painful experience with this. Last year the driver side seat warmer started to get hot...real hot...and literally burnt our legs (and other parts close by if you know what I mean). We took it in to a dealer and after taking apart the seat found out the element had burnt through the foam and into the leather. At the time they said it was one of the worst ones they had ever seen.
Fast forward a year later to last month when the same issue happened to the passenger seat. Same thing, got so hot it burnt through the foam and leather. The foam around it was actually black and they now say that is the worst they have ever seen. They are surprised it did not start on fire.
Sounds to me like this is an issue.

I have a very similiar situation with mine (2011 FX4 w/16,000 miles) ...only the lights for the driver's side stay on - but no heat. The passenger side works great. Brought to the dealer this morning to have them look at a "rear door ajar" alarm I was getting and asked them to look at the seat for me as well. I have an appointment for this Tuesday to see if they can figure it out.

Just purchased 2011 FX4. The drivers side heated seat does not work. The passenger side is fine. The buttons light up and stay lit, but no heat. It is covered under the warranty. The dealer wants to keep the truck for a couple of days to take the seat apart and see which part is broken, order the part and fix it. Seems to me that there is really only one major part, the heating element/pad ! Going to ask them to order the part then I will take it in.
