Default Final Updat...I hope!

Here's the update. I dropped my tuck off at the dealership Tuesday October 6th - Ford wanted them to run some tests. A determination was made that the airflow channels in the seat cushion had collapsed. Not surprising- the channels were simple channels formed in the seat cushion foam. Ford redesigned the cushion with a denser foam and placed tubes in the cushion to form the airways for the heated/cooled air to flow. I just got the truck back yesterday. the dealership wad expecting an overnight from Ford on the cushion delivery. Dealership did provide me with a rental which was nice. They said that they also replaced the control module because module testing showed a higher temperature than the seat was showing. The main cause here, however, is the cushion. Dealership inquired about doing the passenger side but Ford denied this saying just to keep an eye on it.

I wonder if that is the root cause of my seat heater failure? They replaced the blower assembly the second time I took it in, but there is no mention on the invoice of the cushion/tubes. Does your invoice show a part number?

Here is the parts list per my work order:

BC3Z-18D507-A Duct-CCS
DL3Z-25632A22-A Pad-SEAT CUS
DL3Z-18632A23-A Pad-SEAT CUS

BU5Z-14C724-C Control Module

From what the service manager said. the cushion comes in two sections. These cushions were redesigned. They are much firmer than the old cushions. Service manager also said that there was a layer of plastic placed between the cushions on the old design. Ford took this layer of plastic out noting that it was part of the problem. The seat is working great now and has NOT shut off again. Good Luck!!

had the same issue in my 2012 lariat. I had a really good talk with the service gut who replaced mine. Said it was crushed and that it had been either replace before or not stuck down proper from the factory. Also he said poor design as there more dependent on airflow then anything else. Ford said the same thing to me about the passenger seat... Keep an eye it. Seat heat/cool works great now. 👍👍

Well here I am again, seat heater failed for the 3rd time in 2 months. I'm beyond frustrated at this. I will be taking a print out of this thread to the service dept when I drop the truck off.

I can see how this would be frustrating, Nevint. Please pass on the odometer reading of your vehicle; I'll check the available resources.

4th times a charm?? I picked up my truck today, and guess what.....the seat heater failed 15 minutes after leaving the dealer. The most frustrating part is that I printed off this forum thread, and gave it to them when I took it in for the 3rd time. They didn't replace the cushion parts or ducts as JimFX4 had posted. They simply replaced the blower, which is the part that failed last time.

FordServiceCA I would appreciate a follow up on this. 4 times for the same issue. I am beyond disappointed.
