According to the Amp web site, OBD plug number for the F-150 is 19-03981-90. They are different part numbers, Chevy OBD plug for example, is 16-03970-90. I could see it being a universal plug size, but not using the same pin in different make trucks. Maybe it is the wrong one, I'm really curious now to find out.

Are you guys sitting down?

My order included an OBD connector for a Dodge! That is why it doesn't work. Confirmed via part number. Guy said they recently had an issue where some mixed parts were getting to people. And the replacement part will take 3-5 days to get to me. Disappointed to be honest. For all the hours my dad and I put in this weekend, without tech support to reach...they really should overnight the bastard to me.

Better get here by the end of the week.

Glad you got it figured out!

It does suck and they should eat the shipping overnight!

The only thing that is encouraging is that when you get it and they work, you'll be so stoked that maybe some of the bitterness fades! Lol

That's weird. Why would they offer only 1 harness part number? How do they know what vehicle it's going on? Everything I've seen in the autoparts world always has a different part number even for the slightest change to avoid this very scenario.

I'll be checking my part numbers when I get home to make sure mine are right too. So, the correct part number for the connector for us is 19-03981-90, correct? I won't be messing with mine until the weekend anyway, but I would be really aggravated too to find this out during install.

Makes perfect sense, I posted before about the obdII connector being universal where emission is concerned but likely different for body control systems and such.

Yup. The one I have in hand (for a Dodge) is 19-03982-90.

They must have made a recent change because I've been selling these as soon as they came out and this is the first I've ever heard of this. So sorry! Let me know if there's anything I can do to speed up the process.

The difference in electronics between the 2012 and 2013 trucks is very different in certain aspects, the one that sticks in my mind the most is the wiring for the audio system, wire color, pin placement and shape of the connectors are all completely different so it's not so unusual.

Time marches on and every new engineer Ford hires or has hired needs a change to justify keeping their job.
