End hijack.
Please try to remember what it is! I haven't had an good gator since '11 when we visited NOLA. Loved the Red Fish, and NOLA (Emeril's - we only got in because I work at his favorite winery). Took a cooking class one day. MMMMmmmmmMM! Love's my jambalaya (ya gotta learn to serve it on pasta though! and etouffee !) And Café Dumonde comes in a far 2nd to Café Beignet! Yes, NOLA is a great place to eat! (ya can't find a decent, real "Hurricane" though...) But really, is there a bad place to eat? Besides, maybe, Bangladesh? Or Scotland/England, Wales?

Jambalya is traditionally served as a rice dish and will remain that way, sorry, The "Original Hurricane" was invented at a place called Pat Obrien's in the French Quarter, you missed out if you didn't go there.

Never heard of Café Beignet, always went to Café Du Monde (the original).

Yeah there are plenty of bad places to eat, ever been to Oklahoma? Gackkkk everything is bland as hell there, not just the scenery.

The gal teaching the cooking class told us the difference(s) between the 2 cafes. Since we had already tried Dumonde (and liked it very much), we sought out Café Beignet. It's not far from Dumonde. It's in a little, what I would call a "cave" - round sloping roof. Small inside. Busy as all get out. But when we bit into their beignet, the wife and I stared at each other in amazement! The chef said the difference is hand mixing the dough. Go figure.

And please, if you can find out the name of that NO cuisine restaurant...

Yeah, OK and other places to eat: When in doubt I rely on this strategy: seek out the best steak house in town (ask locals - especially those who work in law or investments - they have all the money and know where to get a great meal Never had a bad experience yet.

And BTW, OK food has nothing on Scottish food! Most of which is based on a dare... (haggis? Kidney pie? Really?) I know, 'cause I are one...

Orly?

My lock cylinder got punched in last night... Hertz tweeters, Inifinity 6x8s, Pioneer head unit and sub, and cheapie Wal-Mart amp (Yeah, I know, all that other high-end stuff and I cheap out on the amp...) are still there, as was my MP3 player in the dash. It got egged last week (whoever it was had an arm, the eggshell scratched the hell out of the paint!) and this morning I go to get in it and discover they punched the lock...

I'm thinking I'm going to be sleeping in the truck tonight with my 9mm.

WoW,
never knew our F150s were so easy to brake into.
I travel a little so the lock punch & tailgate thefts concern me (Even though I normally lock the stock tailgate lock when Im out of town).

Im looking at getting the tailgate plate that mounts around the hinge & attaches by the stock star bit bolt (instead of the masterlock with the plastic internal piece)(read a review on amazon that the ML lock can be slid over some & still can lift the tailgate off, IDK).

As for the door handle Im debating on the steal plate that mounts behind the handle.

I believe he is talking about Pastalya, not Jambalya. And if he din't find a good hurricane he din't hit Pat'Os, is right. Although Handgrenades are freakin awesome too.

Changing the conversation to good food, good drinks, and hot women is NEVER a bad thing, and should always be a welcome "derail" ...

If you "do" Pat O'Brien's right, it may be hard to remember anything other than the fact you went there ...
